Art Update

Interior and Appliances

Remodeled the kitchen and included textures such as the floor, walls, appliances, food, etc for beta. Currently working on retexturing and applying animations for appliances and further external decorations as final goals. 

UI

Updated and created recipe cards for consistency. Created coin and clock icons. Currently working on a repair icon, screens (such as title, ending, player control confirmation and tutorial splash art), and additional UI for hugging. 

Gameplay Update

Customers:

Due to some delays in animations, for the beta we added a temporary customer based on some assets and AI generated textures. His name is furbo. Credit to https://greyfroggames.itch.io/fire-flame-character for the model.

Dialogue:

During the beta playtest a visitor gave us an amazing idea of how to integrate dialogue into our stress system. Now when Joy/Moody get stressed, they will have dialogue appear that indicates they want a hug. The same dialogue will also change once they are ready to hug. This should improve clarity. Thanks AI for the speech bubble.

Audio Update

  • Wrote and implemented faster A->B transitions to match how fire appears abruptly in the world
  • Added a system to let the entry and checkout bells adjust their pitch to match the music
  • Created sfx for the button mash microgame
  • Created and implemented sfx for picking up and dropping items
  • Recorded voice for walla
  • Planned recording squeaky/plushies for hug sfx
  • Fixed some bugs with footsteps playing when they shouldn’t be
